Tulipe noire in the community
Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC)
September 30, 2021 was the first annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day provides an opportunity to recognize and commemorate the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools, and to honour survivors, their families and communities.
Tulipe Noire donated 100% of their sales for September 30 to the Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC), for a total of $4500.

DANCE VICTORIA - CHERISH
Tulipe Noire owner, Kari McLay, has been a contributor and producer of Cherish, an annual fundraiser fashion show in support of Dance Victoria and Victoria Women's Transition House. The Victoria Women’s Transition House provides emergency shelter, counseling and support services to women of all ages, with and without children, fleeing domestic abuse. Dance Victoria contributes to the cultural vitality of our city and supports the development of new dance at its studios in Quadra Village.
Cherish is an important fundraising collaboration, reflective of a healthy community that values both social supports for vulnerable individuals and cultural enrichment through the beauty of dance.

Tulipe Noire is proud to support the Victoria Mustard Seed. Year round, we have a Mustard Seed bin in front of our store, where we encourage the community to donate any non-perishable food, clothing and personal care products for those in need.
The Mustard Seed Street Church has been essential in fighting hunger and restoring faith to a large portion of people living in poverty, as well as the working poor, in greater Victoria since 1975. The Church ministries are nearly 100 percent community funded and include Vancouver Island’s largest Food Bank, a Family Center, Hospitality programs, and addictions recovery at Hope Farm Healing Centre as well as more traditional Church services. |
